Kite-powered Ship Article

Everything old is new again! Emily found this article and seems sail powered commercial shipping is on the way back.  The article says that the sail is “reducing fuel consumption by up to 35 percent depending on the prevailing wind conditions”.  Australian Shipowners Association state that internal shipping accounted for 1.8% of global CO2e emissions in 1996.  With fuel prices on the rise it will be interesting to watch the increase in fuel saving technologies rolled out into the transport sector.
